| Prior to joining Texas Tech I was an Associate Professor of Economics at Suffolk University and an Assistant Professor of Economics at San José State University and the Director of the Center on Entrepreneurial Innovation at the Independent Institute. |

| I became interested in economics through the writings of Milton Friedman, F.A. Hayek, Ludwig Von Mises, and Murray Rothbard. I earned my Ph.D. from George Mason University in 2003 where I studied Austrian Economics and Public Choice Theory. |
